A few days ago, the midday sun in Mallorca was actually still quite hot. We had to move our table into the shade when we had coffee in the bar of our local plaça, last Sunday.

Within three or four days, things have changed. Now, a cold north-westerly wind dominates, and what there is of the sun casts rather long shadows. Temperatures were around 9° C yesterday lunchtime and 1° C during the night. Winter has arrived.

It is also reported that the first snow has now fallen in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range above 500 m, yesterday. That’s earlier than usual. This time last year, some of us were still swimming in the sea.
